‘Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavantu’ The new mantra to tackle COVID-19

Coronavirus or COVID-19 is the newest threat that the world faces now. Every day, new cases are arising and the numbers have risen to 276,665 as of March 21, 2020. The threat is alarming and most of us have been directed to stay in quarantines and work from home to protect ourselves from the virus. The panic continues knocking at our doors as the days pass and the only way to evade it is following precaution and safety instructions. Still, the rising numbers are a major challenge to face. So let’s all follow the new mantra of ‘Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavantu’ to tackle the panic of COVID-19.

So far, the positive cases of coronavirus in our country have surpassed the margin of  271 and seem to be moving to the third stage of the outbreak. Countries like Italy, USA, and China have already reached this margin line with cases far above India. There are numerous reports of deaths worldwide and the alarming row which started in China’s Wuhan has now taken the globe at a storm. To mitigate the risks, India has already taken various adequate measures to ensure the safety of all its residents. This has been praised by the World Health Organization and we have been told to follow the safety directives suggested by it. These include:

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water
  • Covering mouth and nose while coughing and sneezing
  • Thoroughly cooking meat and eggs before eating
  • Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of illness like cough and cold
  • Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose with dirty hands

Still, these safety directives don’t seem to be enough for all. These preventive measures will definitely help us maintain hygiene and stop the spread. But, will these be enough to reduce the panic and the global health threat that the coronavirus outbreak has triggered? The answer is no —  it won’t, completely! All we need to do is stay safe, maintain positivity in the air around and not believe in false rumours. We also need to keep the faith and pray for an early departure of this health emergency. Let’s pray for all the lives at stake in the world currently with the new mantra of ‘Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavantu’.
