Are Colive homes co-residencies / Gender Neutral?

Majority of Colive properties are co-residencies or gender neutral with boys, girls & couples staying in the same building. Colive also has homes for all-boys or all-girls available across all locations.

How many people stay in a Colive property?

Number of residents vary from one property to the other and is based on various factors like building size, rooms/ beds available, demand in the location among few. Residents are accommodated in every Colive property in a way that ensures personal space & their comfort.

What amenities are provided by Colive?

Colive residents have a wide selection of premium amenities to unwind, relax and entertain themselves. Cinema Room to watch live sports, TV shows, movies & special screenings together. Terrace Lounge with Star Gazing deck & barbecue set-up specially designed for fun times. Fitness Room to sweat it out with fellow Colivers. Community Kitchen that comes fully equipped with all utilities.

How does Colive ensure their properties are safe & secured?

All Colive properties are 24/7 under surveillance and centrally monitored at all times.

Entry into Colive properties is restricted with access cards and facial recognition software. Only Colive residents, staff members & guests can enter the premises.

Residents can also contact the Colive Emergency Response Team at any time of the day or night by calling on 7676000500 *Press 9 for any threat to self or fellow residents.

The ERT comprises of trained personnels who will be immediately available to assist in case of medical emergencies, fire/theft/intrusion/injury/assault etc.

Is food provided in Colive homes?

Food is available at select Colive locations.

Dinner service is provided at Colive properties and some Colive homes have breakfast facilities as well. This usually depends on demand for food service in the property. If 70% of the community members opt-in for the food service, Colive happily obliges.

Some Colive properties provide self-cooking equipments like microwave oven & induction stoves in the room.

Community Kitchens are fully functional with kitchen cabinets for food storage, gas stove with cylinders, refrigerators & microwave ovens. These are also regularly stocked with bread, jam, milk & eggs in select properties.

Some Colive properties have BB Instant (Big Basket) vending machines installed at properties that can be used by the residents for buying provisions or snacks as per their requirements.

House Rules & Guest Policy

Can I bring my guest in Colive?

Friends and family of Colive residents are welcome to visit and have fun at the Colive property.

They have to register before entering the property by scanning the QR code displayed at the entrance.

Can my guests stay with me in Colive?

Extended stay of guests at Colive is not favoured in interest of the community and fellow roommates. However, in case of a family member/ friend visiting for a couple of days, please inform Colive authorities and seek permission from your roommate at least 3 days prior to the visit. For Guests who wish to extend their stay beyond 10 pm / for overnight stays, KYC verification is mandatory. This can be done while registering by scanning the QR code displayed at the entrance.

Request the Guests to please review the Guest Policy prior to their visit and adhere to it during their time at Colive property.

Are pets allowed in Colive?

In interest of the community, residents are advised against having pets in the property. Colive does not object to any pets that could be confined in your room, (Eg- fish) but the staff / community member will not take responsibility for the upkeep or maintenance in your absence.

Can I visit before making the booking?

You can visit the Colive property before booking and experience the upgraded lifestyle first hand at any time as per your convenience by booking a visit.

Colive makes full disclosure about the Colive property and all details including amenities, features, inclusions, property type, room types etc are mentioned on the website & the Colive App. You can also take a virtual tour of the property.

How can I schedule a visit to a Colive property?

How can I schedule visits to different properties?

Colive has 150+ properties it would be physically impossible to visit all the properties in 1 day.

You can select the properties you wish to visit and pick a preferable date & time for each property and schedule your visit.

You will receive an email and SMS from Colive with all important details of your visit including Property location, date & time.

Are there any timings to schedule a visit?

As we do not prefer causing inconvinience to any of our residents, you can only schedule your visits between 12 noon to 9pm.

Reservation / Booking a bed or room

How do I make a reservation?

You can reserve your Colive home either on our website or on the Colive App.

Log-in on the Colive website or the App - with your email id or Contact No

View the property you wish to make a booking in

Click on 'Book Now' tab and select the tentative Rent start date & time

Choose the room number along with the sharing type

Review the details pertaining to the room and your stay, including T&C with reference to the lock-in and Notice period

Select the RM name & Select source

Review the payment details for your room - Reservation Amount, Rent, Security Deposit amount

Enter the PROMO Code or the Referral Code

Pay the reservation amount of Rs. 4,000 to complete your reservation

What is the booking amount?

The reservation amount to be paid at the time of booking is Rs. 2,000/- which will be adjusted in the security deposit payable at the time of check-in.

This is standard and mandatory for all Colive Properties.

when do I have to pay the booking amount?

The booking amount has to be paid at the time of making the reservation.

The booking is confirmed only after the reservation amount is paid in full.

What should I do if I wish to cancel my booking?

To cancel your reservation. you can speak with our executives by calling on 7676 000 500 & choosing option 2 on our interactive voice response.

Please Note: The reservation amount is non-refundable as per the Company Policy.

What happens when I cancel my booking or reservation?

Once the reservation is cancelled by the customer, the bed is re-assigned for sales.

Will I get the reservation amount back if I cancel the Booking?

The reservation amount is only refundable in cases where the booking is not confirmed or the room booked by the customer is not available for check-in.

The reservation amount is non-refundable when the booking is cancelled by the customer. Colive properties are usually in high demand & the purpose of this policy is to discourage non-serious bookings and allow genuine customers to be a part of Colive Community without much hassle.

Security Deposit

How much is the security deposit at Colive?

Unlike the rental industry in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, the security deposit is equal to just 2 months rent.

Why do I have to pay the security deposit?

The security deposit is a deposit of money to the landlord to ensure that rent will be paid and other responsibilities of the lease performed. Security deposit is collected at the time of check- in solely for security reasons. It will be refunded on 15th of the subsequent month post check- out.

When should the security deposit be paid?

At Colive, you can pay the security deposit in two instalments. One 48 hours prior to the move in and the rest in the subsequent month of your stay.

What payment options are available?

Payment options like net banking, UPI transfers, NEFT & mobile wallet are availble on the website & the Colive app. Colive advises all customers to exercise caution while making the payments and only make online payments to colive account. Please do not make any cash transactions with any members claiming to be colive staff.

How and when will my security deposit be refunded?

Security Deposit is refunded on 15th of the subsequent month post check-out.

Please ensure the bank details updated during registration & at the time of Check-out are correct

Refunds will be processed post redemption from the wallet in the colive customer app via cheque. Refund cheque will be dispatched to the communication address registered with Colive.

Under what circumstances would my security deposit not be refunded?

The security deposit will not be refunded or be refunded partially in cases where there is an outstanding amount of monthly rent, there are physical damages to the property and its furnishings or there is a payment due outstanding. After the check-out request is raised by the customer, the customer has to complete all the check-out formalities before their physical move-out. The company then evaluates the check-out formalities and clears it for refunds. There is no reason to worry about your deposit refunds, Colive takes pride in ensuring timely refunds. We have 100% track record of refunding the deposits upon completion of all check-out formalities as per the agreement terms.

How will my refund be processed when I check-out from Colive?

Post the check-out request is raised by the customer, the customer has to complete all the check-out formalities before their physical move-out. The company then evaluates the check-out formalities and clears it for refunds.

Deposit refund is processed to the residents bank account only on or before the 15th of the calender month post check-out

What is the meaning of Separation charges?

Seperation charges are the standard deductions from the security deposit towards the upkeep of the property and maintanence charges that are essential after the room is vacated and before released to a new resident of the Colive Community.

How much is the Separation charges?

Separation charges amounting to 15 days of your monthly rent shall be applicable for 1 BHK and 10 days for all other sharing shall be charged upon check-out for cleaning and maintenance of the premises.

What are the deductions in my security deposit?

Lock-in period

What does the lock-in period mean?

Lock-in period means that the tenant is bound to stay for the minimum agreed period as per policy.

What is the lock-in period for colive properties?

The lock-in period varies from property to property. It starts from 3 months and goes upto 6 months. One can view the lock-in period of the property on the property description page and also in the final statement before payment.

When does my lock-in period begin?

Lock-in period will begin from the move-in date into the property.

What happens if i check-out in my lock-in period?

If the tenant moves-out of the property before the lock-in is completed there will be lock-in period charges of one month rent deduction from the security deposit.

Rent

When is the rent due?

The rent is due every 1st of the calendar month. A late payment charges of rs.500 shall be levied after 7thuntil the 15th. An additional penalty charge equivalent to 7 days rent shall be levied between 16th& 22ndof the month. Wi-fi services will be disconnected and legal notice will be sent to the customer for rent default. In case, rent remains outstanding till 22nd, eviction policies shall apply. Notice will be issued and an additional eviction fee equivalent to 21 days rent will be added to the dues. Access to premises shall be restricted from 23rdand all pending dues and penalties shall be adjusted with the security deposit.

How can I make the payment of my rent?

Rent can be paid through app, website using net banking, upi transfers, debit & credit cards, mobile wallet. The company doesn’t accept any rent or deposit through cash or cheques. Members are requested to strictly use the app or web or directly to colive account for all payments. Any such payments made to anyone claiming to be employees or associates of the company, shall not bind the company or its management.

Where can I find the rent amount & break-up?

The details of rent amount and its break-up can be found in the “my dues and payment section” in the app and website.

What is the rent inclusive of?

The rent includes, Residential rent for the room+serice charges+GST on service charges+Electricity bill(actuals). Apart from these, repair charges(if availed any)+ GST on repair charges+ Gas charges(if availed).

How am i charged for electricity?

Electricity is charged on actuals based on the bill incurred. In case of shared accommodation, the entire amount between all the residents of the room/house/property.

I have been overcharged in my rental invoice...

All the rental receipts are system generated and there are very slim chances of extra charges or incorrect charges in the invoice. However, if there are any clarifications required, you can raise the service ticket through app or website under the category “rent receipt”and sub category “requirement”. Our team will address your queries as soon as possible.

Check-in

What does Rent start date mean?

Rent start date is the date on which a resident moves in the property. Check-in timings are between 12 noon & 9 pm on all days, except Mondays. Luggage cannot be left in the premises prior to check-in. Stay without clearing of deposit or pro-rata rent shall tantamount to illegal stay.

When do I have to check-in?

Check-in has to be done within 15 days of reservation. Failing to do so would lead to the booking being released for sales.

What are the check-in formalities?

Check-in timings are between 12 noon & 9 pm on all days, except Mondays with prior appointment to be fixed with. Luggage cannot be left in the premises prior to check-in. The keys from the central office will only be released once all the check-in formalities including the payment of security deposit & pro-rata rent have been completed. At the time of check-in, members are requested to ensure the following are in order,

  • Clean linen & mattress
  • TV with remote in working condition (if included)
  • Wi-Fi credentials (in case of Wi-Fi dabba, the same shall be activated within 3 working days post check-in)
  • Clean bathrooms with functional geyser, taps, flush & faucets
  • Furniture, furnishings & electronic items in working condition
  • Wardrobes with keys
  • Room key and the main door key
  • Facial recognition or access control cards
  • Dustbin

What documents are required at the time of check-in?

Even though you don’t require any physical documents at the time of check-in, KYC has to be completed beforehand. Non completion of KYC details shall be treated as illegal stay.

KYC & Rental Agreement

What does KYC verification mean at Colive?

KYC verification refers to individual identity verification with government authorities and address verification by visiting the permanent address.

When will I receive the rental agreement from Colive?

You will receive the rental agreement upon payment of the 2 month security deposit, the month’s rent and completion of the check-in process.

What should I do when I have not received my rental agreement?

You can raise a service request on the Colive app under the with “Agreement requesting” and our executives will get back to you as soon as possible.

Move-in

What does move-in date mean?

Move-in date is the date on which a resident moves in the property. (Same as Check-in ).

When do I have to move-in?

A resident has to move-in within 15 days of reservation. Failing to do so would lead to the booking being released for sales.

What are the move-in timings?

How can I postpone my move-in date?

The move-in date can be postponed to any date in the same calendar month but not beyond that. You can do the same on the Colive app under the “My Bookings” section.

How can I pre-pone my move-in date?

Due to occupancy of previous tenants/tenant, preponing the move-in date is not feasible.

Notice period

When can I raise Notice to Vacate?

Notice to Vacate can be raised on or before the 1 st the calendar month. Ex: If the resident wishes to check out on 31st January, Notice to Vacate has to be raised on or before 1st January.

How do I raise a Notice to Vacate?

Notice to Vacate should be raised on the Colive App on the “My Bookings” section or on web. A Notice to Vacate communicated to any Colive staff verbally or via service requests and e- mail will not be valid and considered as a Notice to Vacate.

What is the duration of notice period at Colive?

The duration of notice period in Colive is one month which is included is inclusive of the lock-in period as well.

Can I cancel my check-out-out notice?

Yes. If you wish to cancel the Notice to Vacate or change the check-out date, it can be done only within the first 10 days of raising the request.

Can I pre-pone my check-out request?

Yes. If you wish to pre-pone the check-out date, it can be done only within the first 10 days of raising the request. The same can be done under the “My bookings” section on the Colive app or on the website.

Can I postpone my move-out date?

While we would love to have you continue or extend your stay with Colive, our properties are usually in high demand hence postponing your move-out date would be subject to the availability of your booking. If your booking is available, then you can continue staying in the same room. If your room has been booked by another customer, then you will have to move to the room that is allotted by the system after the check-out date. Pro-rata rent for the additional days of your stay will have to be paid prior to the check-out.

What are the charges if the notice period is not served?

In cases where a resident checks-out without serving his/her notice period, security deposit equivalent to 1 month rent will be forfeited during the time of refund.
